As promised, I now have two new versions of Pottersville out. 2.0 is an updated version of 1.0 with a few cosmetic tweaks. Lite is a scaled down version designed to run better and midrange systems.

Even before I had released Pottersville for TS3, I knew that it was a bit resource-heavy and that a lighter version might be needed. It runs fine on monster rigs, but struggles a bit on mid-range computers, and I hated the idea of releasing a world that people might like but runs "well-ish" on their systems. You know what I mean by "well-ish." It runs, but the world is sluggish at times (like during seasonal changes) and has insanely long save and loading times.
Not to toot my own horn, but Pottersville seems to have inspired simmers to put out overviews on YouTube, which I honestly never expected. Below is one of these videos by Shan Finds Pixels, who produces great Sims 3 content on YouTube, including playthroughs and worldviews. As you can see, she spent a lot of time covering Pottersville, including the interiors of houses. She also did a great job creating cinematic shots of the world in the opening of her video, which you can see below:

Pottersville, the latest Sims 3 world from The Sims Depot, is gaining traction. As more people download it, YouTubers are putting out playthroughs. This is the latest one from Cjplays, a Simmer who produces great content for Sims 3. If you like what you see, please subscribe to his channel!
Judging from playthroughs and comments I've received, Pottersville 1.0 has been gaining a lot of traction. However, there is an issue with the world, and that it's really huge.
In August 2023, The Sims Depot released a WIP that's been in development for a very long time, called Pottersville. [You can view details and grab the download link here.]
To help players get a better sense of what they'll discover, there is now a growing list of videos, called Pottersville Playthroughs. In these videos, I introduce players to the various subhoods and characters from Pottersville, complete with notations and everything.
Below is video #1 of this series, where players can see Cascade Plaza and meet members of the Co Eds II household. As of now, there are two videos with one more about to be dropped and more in the works. So, without much further ado:
Color me surprised, but I noticed from my other site, TheSimsDepot.com, that people are still visiting this blog. I have not posted at Blogger for three years because of several issues that I started having since then, so I'm a little surprised to still see visitors.
I suppose that it poses no harm to continue posting here at Blogger. After all, you can never have too many visitors! 😉
