Riverside (Formerly Bakersfield, Sim Acres) is Now Officially Complete!

Boy, is my face red! For over a year, I've been working on a second world. First it was called Sim Acres, then Bakersfield. Now it has a new name: Riverside. This was literally a last minute, decision, too! I was this close to finalizing the world when I decided to name it after this building called the Riverside Towers. Makes sense, after all, since there's a huge river that divides the city.

Now here is the less than embarrassing news. Riverside, formerly Bakersfield, formerly Sim Acres, is 100% complete and ready to be downloaded. Before you download it, here are some photos to whet your appetite:

Riverside Specs
  1. Riverside is on the largest map available, with a height of 300.
  2. It has 180 lots and is 114 MB total.
  3. It is populated. (YAY!!!)
  4. It has been tagged as a city, so there's no wildlife.
  5. It's a "hybrid" world, meaning that it's one part suburban, one part rural, one part beach area, one part industrial, one part suburban and one part city.
  6. It needs the following EPs--Late Night, Pets, Ambitions, Generations, Seasons, World Adventures and Showtime
  7. It needs the following world--Riverview
  8. It has a few items from the following SPs, but not too many--Fast Lane, High End Loft Stuff
  9. There is absolutely no CC.
  10. There might be a small handful of store content, but nothing major. I'm talking maybe a painting here or there or a potted plant but not anything from the venues or sets.
Known Issues
  • Because Riverside is a large world with many families and 180 lots, I really wouldn't recommend it for low end computers. Make sure you have plenty of memory, or just lower your graphics settings to offset lag.
  • I set a lot of community lots to "no visitors." I heartily suggest keeping them off until you add several more families. Otherwise, you will find many of your venues empty.
  • I noticed that on rare occasion, sims will get stuck on the wooden black bridge. If that happens, just use the cheat, "resetsim" to send him or her back home.
  • Some of the snow looks "blocky" in the winter season. Ugly, I know, but there's not much I can do about it.
